2026 Mazda CX-90 Gains New Exterior Color

The 2026 Mazda CX-90 arrives with small changes. This includes the addition of Polymetal Gray Metallic as a newly available exterior color. Meanwhile, the Premium Sport trim is now available on the Turbo S models. This variant adds blackout details like a gloss black honeycomb front grille and black chrome signature wing. That’s not all. Premium Sport models also include black metallic 21-inch alloy wheels, black chrome fender badges, black bumpers, and door garnishes, as well as black side mirrors. Every model comes standard with the full i-ActivSense driver assistance suite.

Higher trims of the 2026 Mazda CX-90 feature plenty of upscale features like heated and ventilated front seats, heated and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs, and a heated steering wheel. Some also include a head-up display, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and Nappa leather seats. However, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto only come on the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. The smaller 10.25-inch display only has wired smartphone integration. Additional driver assistance features, such as a surround view camera, are only available on the range-topping Premium Plus model.

2026 Mazda CX-90: Two Compelling Powertrain Options

As before, the 2026 CX-90 offers two powertrain options. The first is a 3.3-liter turbo inline-six with 280 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque in the Turbo models. Turbo S models utilize the same engine, but its output increases to 340 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque when running on premium fuel. Feeding it regular drops the horsepower to 319. Both versions are EPA-rated at 23/28/25 mpg city/highway/combined. They also include M-Hybrid Boost, a 48-volt mild hybrid assist system designed for improved efficiency and low-speed throttle response. An eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard on all Turbo and Turbo S models.

Meanwhile, the CX-90 PHEV uses a Mazda-developed plug-in hybrid system. It combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, an eight-speed automatic, an electric motor, and a 17.8-kWh battery. Total system output is 323 hp and 369 lb-ft on premium. In all-electric mode, the CX-90 PHEV can travel 26 miles before the gas engine turns on.

Pricing starts at $40,330 for a base CX-90 Turbo Select. Load up a PHEV or Turbo S model and you’re looking at close to $60,000.
