The 2026 Nissan Frontier arrives with some nice updates, including a new Dark Armor package for the SV trim. This adds blackout exterior details, including badges, side mirror caps, and black 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the headliner, door handles, climate control vents, shifter trim, and dashboard accents all come finished in black. On the other hand, the PRO-X and PRO-4X models receive a new exterior color called Citrus Strike. Power comes exclusively from a 3.8-liter V6 with 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic remains the only transmission option. Max towing capacity checks in at up to 7,150 pounds.

Perhaps the biggest news for the 2026 Nissan Frontier is the new PRO-4X R build by Roush Performance. This dials up the truck’s off-road performance with a two-inch lift kit and Ohlins 2.0 Off-Road Suspension. The latter includes coilover shocks with external reservoirs designed to reduce fade during extended use. It also comes with new upper control arms for enhanced articulation and durability. Meanwhile, the 17-inch off-road wheels come wrapped in Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme all-terrain tires.
In terms of design changes, the 2026 Frontier PRO-4X R by Roush Performance has a titanium-finished skid plate, grille insert, and lower front fascia, as well as Lava Red tow hooks. Additionally, it also includes Roush’s R badging on the grille, tailgate, and fenders, as well as embroidered headrests. However, keep in mind that all of Roush’s additions are sold separately and not manufactured, tested, or warranted for safety by Nissan.
Pricing starts at $33,895 for the base S trim. At the top of the lineups is the PRO-4X with the long bed at $44,065. For 2026, only the S trim offers two cab styles. The other trims are crew cab only with either a five- or six-foot bed.
