Boxerfest 2026 didn’t just see the debut of one special-edition sports car; it saw two. The 2027 Subaru BRZ ZC15 joined the WRX GD25 in paying tribute to the brand’s rich motorsports heritage. Like its four-door sibling, the name means something. ZC is the code name of the first-generation BRZ, which debuted in 2012 as a 2013 model. Meanwhile, 15 signifies 15 years, which is the time period since its arrival.
Under the hood, the 2027 Subaru BRZ ZC15 uses familiar components. No, it does not have a turbo. Like the standard BRZ, it features a high-revving 2.4-liter flat-four with 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual comes standard and puts the power down exclusively to the rear wheels via a Torsen limited-slip differential. Every BRZ ZC15 also includes Brembo brakes with red brake calipers, a flexible V-bar under the hood, and a short-throw shifter. The latter two are also available as accessories on the other BRZ models. From what we can tell, the ZC15’s donor trim is the current tS model.
Outside, the BRZ ZC15 doubles down on the heritage look, coming exclusively in one exterior color: Ceramic White. It comes paired with bronze side sill decals and matte-bronze-finished alloy wheels, evoking the original tS model that debuted in 2020. Inside, the throwback details continue with black leather upholstery and Bordeaux Red inserts. Additionally, a unique ZC15 anniversary edition plaque and an STI-branded shifter finished in leather and aluminum come standard. You can also add the latter to other BRZ models as an accessory.
The BRZ ZC15 arrives in early 2027. However, production is limited to 300 units, making it rarer than the WRX GD25. Expect this to cost more than the tS model (especially with markups), which checks in at a hefty $40,015.
