The 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class hits all the right marks for an ultra-luxurious full-size sedan. It’s crazy bourgie in every single sense, the perfect car to get driven in. This latest addition to the heavily updated S-Class lineup blends cutting-edge tech and excessive opulence all in one vehicle. It features new 20- and 21-inch wheel designs, both of which include a floating three-pointed star. The latter even has gold accents!
For a blackout look, the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class offers the Night Series package and a new Night Series Exterior package. These include black exterior accents to complement the other exterior colors, including grey, black, and white, Obsidian Black/Mojave Silver two-tone, and the new Nautical Blue. Manufaktur Night Series Black Pearl or Deep White/Black Pearl Exclusive Nappa leather with gold-grey piping is available in combination alongside the Night Series package.
Inside, the Maybach S-Class features specific design details that distinguish it from the standard model. Digital and analog elements create a super luxurious feel, especially with the new Natural Grain Brown Amber Wood trim with Herringbone pattern. The Maybach also features power comfort rear doors on certain models and silver-plated Robbe & Berking champagne flutes. New interior colors include Beech Brown, Lake Green, Corn Yellow, and Tobacco Brown. Meanwhile, the interior ambient lighting features two Maybach-exclusive colors: Rose Gold and Amethyst Glow.
The Maybach S-Class offers more personalization options through the Manufaktur program, including handcrafted details and three personalized elements. In total, you have a choice of over 150 exterior and more than 400 interior colors. These include Black Sparking, which has a glass-flake clearcoat, and Verde Silver Magno.
2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: More Power and Tech
At launch, the Maybach S-Class will have two variants. The S 580 features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 530 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. It features a 48-volt mild hybrid setup with an integrated starter generator that has 23 hp and 151 lb-ft. Meanwhile, the S 680 has a handcrafted twin-turbo V12 with 621 hp and 664 lb-ft. Both come standard with 4MATIC AWD and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Both variants include additional insulation to help enhance noise and vibration suspension.
AIRMATIC air suspension comes standard on all Maybach S-Class models. It introduces intelligent predictive damping to help elevate comfort, specifically for rear passengers. By using car-to-X information from Mercedes-Benz vehicles driving ahead, transmitted in real time via the cloud, the vehicle can anticipate the road and automatically adjust damping for maximum refinement.
MBUX Continues to Evolve
Every S-Class, including the new Maybach models, uses the fourth-generation MBUX interface. It comes standard with MBUX Supercreen, which combines a 14.4-inch center touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger display, and a 12.3-inch 3D digital cluster. The Maybach models feature Rose Gold instrument cluster dials and a gold Maybach badge in between the two dials. Additionally, the backdrop has gold, rose gold, and black hues to echo the signature rose gold and white ambient lighting.
In the back, the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class features two 13.3-inch displays. Each one has a newly designed, individually configurable remote. It can control the MBUX rear seat entertainment system, climate controls, power sunshades, and other comfort features. Additionally, integrated cameras in the rear passenger displays support video conferencing capability.
For added convenience, the built-in virtual assistant now integrates artificial intelligence from partners like Google and Microsoft. Additionally, the use of multiple AI agents allows for complex conversations and short-term memory. To distinguish the Mercedes star avatar on Maybach models, it is finished in Rose Gold. Furthermore, over-the-air updates come standard thanks to the vehicle’s connection to the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud and MB. OS system.
Every Maybach S-Class includes a water-cooled supercomputer to handle a wealth of functions now and in the future. The standard driver assistance suite includes MB. DRIVE ASSIST PRO 2. It’ll gain the “CITY PRO” feature for point-to-point driving even through traffic at a later date via an OTA update. MB. DRIVE PARKING ASSIST 360, and MB. DRIVE PARKING ASSIST is also standard for added convenience.
The 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class arrives at U.S. dealers in the second half of 2026.
