Kia EV4 GT Teased For the First Time

Kia has used the GT moniker for the last several years to denote its sporty or high-performance models. From the outgoing Forte and Ceed to the current K5, EV6, and the new EV9, Kia has used the GT name on a wide range of models. The upcoming Kia EV4 GT joins an ever-growing list of vehicles to gain a performance model. For the first time, we get a glimpse of the upcoming sporty variant.

The Kia K4 GT in the teaser photos is the hatchback. Unlike Hyundai’s N cars, Kia’s GT cars keep it subtle, meaning few hints at the car’s sporting intentions. In the K4 GT, we see the unique wheels, which likely come wrapped in stickier summer tires. Behind them, you find acid green brake calipers, a hallmark of the Kia’s GT models. The wrap used on the car highlights the hero colors, a combination of black, grey, and neon green evoking motion blur. According to Kia, it hints at speed, emotion, and imagination, all while setting the stage for the future. Regardless of what the automaker says, we see an all-electric hot hatch hiding in plain sight.

Kia EV4 GT

Arriving in 2026, the Kia EV4 GT is the third battery-electric GT model following the EV6 and EV9. Expect it to arrive in Europe first. However, it’s not clear whether the U.S. is getting it because Kia recently removed the EV4 sedan from its consumer site’s future models section. The automaker initially announced that it’s bringing the sedan stateside and will be produced in Mexico. Expect the GT to offer significantly more power than the long range car’s 201 hp and standard AWD. However, that performance boost means a drop in range, so expect less than the 330-mile estimate that Kia first claimed for the upcoming U.S.-market model.
