Looking to drive the 2027 Polestar 5 ahead of everyone? You can now on Gran Turismo 7 for Playstation 4 and 5! The stylish Scandinavian grand touring sedan joins the game’s extensive vehicle lineup as a free downloadable content. Polyphony Digital first showcased the new all-electric sports sedan in game this past weekend at the GT World Series.
To add the 2027 Polestar 5 to the game, Polestar and Polyphony Digital, a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, granted unprecedented access to each other’s teams and facilities. As a result, both brands were able to work together to achieve the most accurate digital representation of the vehicle. They also worked with Igor Fraga, a professional racing driver and sim-racer. This allowed Polestar and Polyphony Digital to faithfully translate the Polestar 5’s dynamic qualities into the game. Fraga even got access to prototypes and R&D experts at Polestar’s development facilities in Sweden. Afterwards, the fina sign-off occurred at Brands Hatch circuit in the U.K.

Real-world feedback was then applied to Polyphony Digital’s class-leading handling and dynamic simulations. As a result, this created a precise representation of the Polestar 5. “Working with the Gran Turismo team to ensure the digital ‘feel’ of the Polestar 5 was as close as possible to the real thing was a really important step for us,” said Joakim Rydholm, Head of Driving Dynamics at Polestar. “The end result means the digital car 100 percent replicates the behind-the-wheel experience of the real Polestar 5, meaning GT racers will have just as much fun as buyers of the actual cars.”
The Polestar 5 is the fifth model in the Swedish brand’s lineup. It follows the 2 compact sports sedan, and the 3 and 4 performance SUVs. To date, it’s the highest-performing and most powerful vehicle in Polestar’s lineup.
