2026 Toyota bZ Gains Tesla Supercharging Access

Toyota joins the growing list of automakers with access to Tesla Superchargers. The 2026 Toyota bZ gains the capability with its standard NACS port, allowing it to charge at over 25,000 additional stations. In addition, Toyota EVs can also now use IONNA stations, in addition to Tesla Supercharger, EVgo, Chargepoint, Electrify America, and more.

To make charging even easier, the 2026 Toyota bZ includes plug & charge capability. The first network compatibility will be with Tesla Superchargers, followed by the other networks. This means 2026 bZ owners can plug in and start charging immediately. The only thing they need to do first is enroll for plug & charge on the Toyota app and make sure they have an active Remote Connect trial or subscription. Every 2026 bZ also comes with J1772 and CCS1 to NACS adapters, allowing for backward compatibility with non-NACS stations.

What about the 2023 to 2025 bZ4X models? They get access to Tesla Superchargers, too. However, they’ll require an NACS to CCS1 adapter, which will be available starting this November. Owners of those vehicles will receive a letter from Toyota notifying them to contact their dealers to receive a complimentary adapter. Toyota says that these meet the brand’s standards for durability and quality. Plus, they’re the only adapters that won’t void the manufacturer’s warranties.

Meanwhile, all 2023 and newer Toyota EVs receive EV routing capability through Apple CarPlay. Apple Maps can now access real-time vehicle information, allowing owners to efficiently navigate to their destination or a charging station. It also takes into account factors like battery performance and elevation changes to help you get the most range out of your vehicle.

Expect Toyota’s upcoming EVs to immediately gain access to Tesla Superchargers and plug & charge capability. These include the C-HR, bZ Woodland, and an upcoming three-row SUV.
