2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale Ditches PHEV Variant

The 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale has arrived with a nice refresh that upgrades its sporty design. The front fascia receives an updated Scudetto grille with a blackout finish and a larger lower front fascia. Out back, the crossover carries over the full-width LED taillight design, which is complemented by a subtly revised bumper. Inside, the Tonale remains the same, but the material quality has improved throughout. You can also opt for new red leather seats and red contrast stitching. In terms of exterior colors, the 2026 Tonale receives three new ones, all with sexy Italian names to match: Rosso Brera, Verde Monza, and Giallo Ocra.

Under the hood, you now only have one choice. That’s right, the Tonale drops the plug-in hybrid system for 2026. That powertrain had 285 hp and 347 lb-ft of torque on tap. However, it only had an EPA-estimated all-electric driving range of 33 miles and a total driving range of 360 miles. When driven as a standard hybrid, the Tonale PHEV had an EPA-estimated mpg combined rating across the board.
