Continuous improvement remains the theme with the 2026 Toyota GR Corolla. It’s unlike Toyota to do that, but then again, this isn’t some bog-standard Corolla Hatchback. The 2026 GR Corolla receives 45.6 feet of additional structural adhesives in the front and rear. As a result, body rigidity and rear grip improve for better suspension movement and a direct feel. This enables consistent steering and enhanced cornering stability. Meanwhile, a new secondary air intake duct helps maximize engine performance by optimizing temperatures.
Other changes for the 2026 Toyota GR Corolla include a standard vented hood on every model. The Premium Plus trim’s JBL premium audio system also adds a ninth speaker and Active Sound Control, which is essentially faux engine noise. Additionally, Toyota discontinued the Premium trim, reducing the GR Corolla lineup to two models.

2026 Toyota GR Corolla: Rally-Inspired Powerhouse
Under the hood, the 1.6-liter turbo-three with 300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque returns. A six-speed manual remains standard, while an eight-speed automatic with Launch Control costs $2,000 extra. Every 2026 GR Corolla comes standard with front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials and the GR-FOUR AWD system. The latter also features three selectable modes: Normal, Gravel, and Track. Normal has front-biased power delivery, while Gravel splits things 50/50. Track mode can vary from the standard 60/40 front bias all the way to a rear-biased 30/70 based on the driver’s actions.
Priced from $41,115, the base GR Corolla comes well-equipped with the full Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite and an eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Automatic models also include Proactive Driving Assist and full-speed range functionality for Dynamic Radar Cruise Control as part of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Every model also includes a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, 18-inch alloy wheels, and Brin Naub suede front sport seats with contrast stitching. The Premium Plus trim adds a head-up display, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and a forged carbon fiber roof. That costs $47,160 if you opt for the manual. Add the automatic and that balloons to just under $50,000. Yikes.
