The 2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has arrived for a second generation in the European market. This time, it’s now a battery-electric vehicle. However, it’s not exactly a true Mitsubishi model. You see, this Eclipse Cross looks like a Renault, because…it is. Other than the revised front fascia with the brand’s Dynamic Shield and some slight design tweaks, it’s a rebadged and restyled Renault Scenic e-Tech. Heck, Renault’s building it for Mitsubishi at its EV production hub, the Douai Plant. This marks the fourth Mitsubishi model to be based on a Renault following the ASX, Colt, and Grandis.
Under the skin, the 2026 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross rides on the CMF-EV platform. The same architecture that underpins several Renault and Nissan EVs, including the Ariya and the new Leaf. Power comes from an 87-kWh battery, giving it a range of 600 km or around 373 miles per charge on the WLTP cycle. Like the Scenic, it uses a single electric motor with 214 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. For added control, the Eclipse Cross has four levels of regenerative braking and a true one pedal function, unlike its Nissan cousins. In terms of charging, the Eclipse Cross has a peak DC charge rate of 150 kW. Meanwhile, it can AC charge at up to 22 kW.

Inside, the Eclipse Cross has the same vertical 12.3-inch touchscreen as the Renault Scenic, complete with Google Built-In. Additionally, it includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and has an available Harman Kardon premium audio system. The Eclipse Cross also features standard over-the-air software updates and a full suite of driver assistance technologies including the Mi-Pilot system, Mitsubishi’s version of Nissan’s ProPilot Assist.
Unfortunately, this EV crossover is forbidden fruit for Americans because the all-electric Eclipse Cross is specifically for the European market.
