2026 Toyota bZ Goes Strong on Value

The 2026 Toyota bZ doubles down on value. Toyota’s heavily revamped all-electric compact SUV arrives strong with a slew of standard features, more power, higher driving range ratings, and a standard NACS charging port. For $36,350, you can get the base XLE trim with a 57.7-kWh battery good for 236 miles according to the EPA. The new XLE FWD Plus trim increases the driving range to 314 miles thanks to a larger 74.7-kWh pack.

You also benefit from more power, which checks in at 221 hp for the XLE FWD Plus. The base XLE only has 168 hp. Adding AWD drops the range to 288 miles on the XLE trim, but increases the power output to 338 hp. Meanwhile, the Limited trim is rated at 299 miles with FWD, or 278 miles with AWD. When it comes to charging, the bZ has an 11-kW onboard charger. In terms of DC charging, it has a peak rate of 150 kW, an improvement, but not on par with some rivals.

In terms of standard equipment, the 2026 Toyota bZ comes stacked. Every model has a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two wireless chargers, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. Additionally, all models come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 driver assistance suite, blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking.

The Limited trim adds the split roof rear spoiler, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a panoramic glass roof. You can add extras like a nine-speaker JBL premium audio system and two-tone exterior colors. Additional driver assistance features include lane change assist, front cross-traffic alert, and traffic jam assist. However, that last one requires an active Drive Connect subscription after the end of the trial.
