2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Trail Edition Brings Ruggedness

Another automaker joins the outdoorsy appearance bandwagon. This time it’s Mitsubishi with the new Outlander Trail Edition. Based on the SE trim, 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Trail Edition channels the brand’s off-road heritage with rugged good looks. It features a black hood decal, a rear Trail Edition badge, a host of black exterior accents, and trim-specific 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the outdoorsy theme continues with all-terrain floor and cargo mats. They also have Trail Edition badges just in case you forget which Outlander you bought.

The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Trail Edition offers some customizability to maximize the SUV’s utilitarian feel. Cooper Discover Road+Trail AT tires and several Thule-branded roof racks and carriers are all available through Mitsubishi dealers. Want to make your SUV stand out even more? Mitsubishi offers a mountain-themed side graphic that’ll surely help the Outlander Trail Edition pop. Additional features include the Mi-Pilot driver assistance system, five USB-C ports, and an eight-speaker Yamaha premium audio system.

2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Trail Edition: Familiar Underpinnings

Power comes from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 181 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. A CVT continues as the only transmission option, while Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control AWD system is standard on the Trail Edition. In terms of fuel economy, the EPA rates the Outlander Trail Edition at 24/30/26 city/highway/combined. The plug-in hybrid powertrain is not offered on this rugged-looking model.

Just like the rest of the Mitsubishi lineup, the Outlander Trail Edition includes a five-year or 60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year or 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Every model also comes with two years or 30,000 miles of scheduled maintenance. That’s up to three oil changes and three tire rotations, as well as one cabin filter change.
