Remember the Ascent? That 3-row Subaru SUV? Yeah, that one. Well, it’s still around, and it just got some minor tweaks. The 2026 Subaru Ascent gets minor tweaks, the biggest being a new Sapphire Blue Pearl exterior color replacing Cosmic Blue Pearl. Range-topping Touring now comes with wood-grain interior accents. On the other hand, the Premium comes standard with StarTex water-resistant upholstery and black exterior accents. Subaru also limits the Onyx Edition to the Touring trim with the discontinuation of the lower-level variant of the same name.

2026 Subaru Ascent: The Carry Over Bits
Other than those small tweaks, the Ascent soldiers on mostly unchanged. It offers a single engine option: a turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer-four with 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT also remains the only transmission on offer, while Symmetrical AWD comes standard because…Subaru. Meanwhile, towing capacity maxes out at 5,000 lbs. for all models.
In terms of active safety, the Ascent comes standard with Subaru’s EyeSight suite of driver assistance technologies. Higher trims also include the DriverFocus system, which is designed to mitigate driver distraction, and a surround view camera system. Every Ascent comes standard with an 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and heated front seats. Moving up to higher trims adds niceties like ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.
Pricing for the 2026 Subaru Ascent starts at $42,245 for the base Premium trim in either seven- or eight-seat configuration. Moving up to the Touring causes the price to balloon to $52,615. An Onyx Edition Touring dressed up with blackout details costs the most at $53,445. For those hints of bronze, the Limited Bronze Edition checks in at $50,455. That gets you 20-inch bronze-finish wheels, bronze exterior accents, and bronze interior stitching.
