2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Adds Electrified Power

The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has arrived, and it’s packing a new electrified powertrain option. In addition to the 3.0-liter twin-turbo I-6 with 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque, the largest Jeep SUV now offers a range-extended EV system or REEV (also known as the EREV or a series plug-in hybrid). The system uses a 3.6-liter V6, a 130-kW generator, and a 92-kWh battery. Delivering 647 hp and 620 lb-ft, this EREV system allows the Grand Wagoneer to hit 60 mph in five seconds. Additionally, Jeep anticipates a total driving range rating of over 500 miles.

How does the range-extending EV system work? Think of it as a plug-in hybrid with a massive battery. Since the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer REEV operates primarily as an electric vehicle, the gas engine only works as a generator. This effectively turns it into a series hybrid with a plug. The gas engine powers the generator, which in turn creates electricity and sends it to the battery to operate the electric motors that turn the wheels. As a result, this powertrain gives it the instant torque and driving experience of an EV, all while retaining the ability to fill it up with gas when needed.

2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer: Familiar Looks

Above all of that electrified goodness, the Grand Wagoneer retains the familiar Jeep design. It features an updated front fascia that’s more squared off and full-width LED lighting. Jeep’s seven-slot grille also gains illumination to complement the new T-shaped headlights. Out back, full-width LED taillights mirror the front end. The 2026 Grand Wagoneer also eschews chrome on the exterior for a cleaner look.

Inside, the Grand Wagoneer goes all in with luxury. Features like a McIntosh premium audio system, a head-up display, and power running boards are all available. Some trims even offer Nappa leather upholstery and open-pore wood trim to emphasize the premium positioning of this massive SUV. Meanwhile, the Summit Reserve trim adds goodies like ventilated rear seats, a passenger display, and a cooler in the front console. The McIntosh premium audio system remains available, too, featuring 19 speakers on most trims or 23 on the Summit Reserve.

When it goes on sale, the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer starts at $64,740 for a RWD example with the turbocharged inline-six engine. Jeep says that the REEV (or EREV) version will arrive later and be built alongside the gas version at Stellantis’ Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan.
