2027 Nissan Altima: Yep, It’s Still Alive

That’s right, the Nissan Altima lives on for 2027. The aging midsize sedan still offers two trims, with the SV starting at $29,065. On the other hand, the SR checks in at $30,465 with FWD or $31,965 with AWD. Under the hood, the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine carries over, while a CVT remains the only transmission option. Front-drive models make 188 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Opting for AWD drops those numbers slightly to 182 hp and 178 lb-ft. EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings check in at 26/36/30 mpg city/highway/combined for FWD models and 25/33/28 mpg with AWD.

For 2027, Nissan discontinued one of the two special editions on the Altima. Fortunately, both available trims come well equipped. The base SV comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, an eight-inch touchscreen, a full suite of driver assistance technologies, and a seven-inch instrument cluster display. You can also upgrade to a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, which includes wireless smartphone integration. Additionally, optional extras include a wireless charger, a moonroof, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, and heated front seats. The SR trim adds distinct details like a sportier look with lots of black accents and sport-tuned suspension on front-drive models.

The Altima also has Nissan’s ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driver assistance system as an option on both trims. However, this does not have hands-free driving operation like in newer models like the Rogue Hybrid. Meanwhile, the SV Special Edition package adds unique details like gloss-black-finished 17-inch alloy wheels, body-colored side mirrors, illuminated kick plates, and a center console finisher with a carbon fiber look.

Unfortunately, this may truly be the Altima’s final model year. With the lineup reduced to two trims and certain features like the Bose premium audio system discontinued, it’s inevitable. The 2027 Altima is on sale now.
