2026 Honda Civic Carries Over Unchanged

The benchmark Honda Civic arrives for 2026 unchanged, and that’s a good thing. Available as a sedan or hatchback, the popular compact car continues to offer four trims: LX, Sport, Sport Hybrid, and Sport Touring. However, that base LX trim remains exclusive to the sedan. In the powertrain department, the LX and Sport use a 2.0-liter I-4 with 150 hp and 133 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the hybrid models get you Honda’s 2.0-liter two-motor hybrid system with 200 hp and 232 lb-ft.

In terms of fuel economy, the 2026 Honda Civic impresses. The sedan has an EPA rating of 32/41/36 mpg city/highway/combined with the LX trim or 31/39/34 mpg for the Sport. Hybrid models kick it up a notch with an EPA-estimated 50/47/49 mpg. On the other hand, the hatchback has EPA ratings of 30/38/34 mpg for the Sport trim and 50/45/48 mpg for the hybrid.

2026 Honda Civic: Feature Rich…On Select Trims

In typical Honda fashion, the 2026 Civic locks out many of the good features on the range-topping Sport Touring trim. That’s the only way to get the 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and several key features. Want wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google Built-In? Better splurge for the Sport Touring because Honda ties those to the larger nine-inch touchscreen. The rest of the lineup uses a tiny seven-inch touchscreen and wired smartphone integration.

Pricing for the sedan starts at $25,890 for the base LX trim. The range-topping Sport Touring, which comes standard with the hybrid powertrain, costs $33,590. Want the practicality of a hatchback? Get ready to pay more since it starts at the Sport trim, which costs $29,090. Meanwhile, the Sport Touring hatchback costs $34,790. Although it undercuts the Toyota Prius in most trims, the Civic lacks comfort-focused goodies like a heated steering wheel and ventilated front seats.
