Porsche EVs Now Have Tesla Supercharger Access

Porsche EVs now have access to the Tesla Supercharger network. The soft launch took place on September 9, when Taycan and Macan Electric owners gained access to North America’s most reliable charging network. That’s an extra 23,500 DC chargers for drivers to plug into, adding even more convenience for long-distance driving.

To access Tesla Superchargers in Porsche EVs, owners will need to use a Porsche-supplied NACS DC adapter. At the start, initiating a charge requires using the Tesla app. Later on, owners will be able to initiate a charge using the MyPorsche app. Additionally, plug-and-charge capability is also on the way. Starting now, every new 2026 Taycan and Macan Electrics come standard with the NACS DC adapter. 2025 Taycan owners and existing Macan Electrics are also eligible for a free NACS adapter and will be notified via the MyPorsche app when they can reserve them. Own a 2024 or older Taycan? You can purchase the NACS adapter from the Porsche Online Shop or at your local Porsche dealer for $185.

In addition to Tesla Superchargers, the NACS adapter for Porsche EVs can also be used at Ionna and Electrify America charging stations with NACS handles. Additionally, all 2026 Taycan and Macan Electrics will also include the location of additional chargers in their onboard navigation feature. Following that, 2024 and 2025 Macan Electric models will receive this capability via a software update before the end of the year. 2025 and earlier Taycans get the update after that.

With Porsche EVs gaining access to Tesla Superchargers, another Volkswagen Group brand joins that growing list. Audi recently gained access for select vehicles, including the Q6 e-Tron, A6 e-Tron, and e-Tron GT. Volkswagen likely isn’t far behind. Expect the entire VW Group to have Tesla Supercharger access by the end of 2025.
