The 2026 Nissan Sentra is here, and boy, it’s a looker! This latest generation draws inspiration from the latest crop of Nissan vehicles, including the Leaf. Unlike the outgoing model, the new Sentra looks futuristic, especially with its low-slung roofline. The front fascia looks unlike anything else in the compact sedan segment, thanks to the updated V-motion grille. For a sportier look, the SR model comes with a trim-specific front fascia and rear bumper, a dark chrome-finished grille, and a rear spoiler.
From the side, the 2026 Sentra’s sleek profile gives it a modern look. The SR trim is available in two-tone exterior colors, and optional 18-inch alloy wheels further enhance its sporty, youthful look. The 2026 Sentra also goes all in on looking techy, thanks to standard LED headlights with slim projectors and a signature light-up sequence that activates when the vehicle is unlocked. Additionally, the sleek style helps enhance the car’s aerodynamic efficiency and reduces drag. In terms of exterior color options, the Sentra offers several new ones, including Imperial Bronze, Bluestone Pearl, and Energetic Ember.

2026 Nissan Sentra: A Tech-Focused Experience
Inside, the 2026 Sentra doubles down on future-forward design. The optional dual 12.3-inch displays and touch-sensitive climate control panel highlight this. Thankfully, physical controls remain, including a volume knob. On higher trims, the Sentra even includes ambient lighting that adds a premium feel, especially with the SL trim’s quilted TailorFit synthetic leather upholstery. Available features include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and an 8-speaker Bose premium audio system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are standard on all models.
In terms of driver assistance features, the 2026 Sentra comes standard with a full suite. That includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. In addition, higher trims offer a surround view camera and ProPilot Assist, the latter of which is a first for the Sentra.
Familiar Powertrain and Chassis
Under the hood, the 2026 Nissan Sentra continues to offer a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. A CVT returns as the only transmission available, and it’s been retuned for a natural and smooth acceleration feel. Every trim except the base S also comes with a Sport mode that sharpens the throttle response.
Every Sentra features an independent front and rear suspension. Additional reinforcement also increases rigidity by 6 percent, while the steering wheel now has a larger dynamic damper to reduce vibrations. Meanwhile, new shock absorber valving helps further minimize road impacts. Finally, Nissan engineers reduced the size of body openings to reduce interior noise levels.
The 2026 Sentra arrives at Nissan dealers later this year with four available trims: S, SV, SR, and SL.
