Audi EV Models Gain Tesla Supercharger Access

Audi has announced that it has joined the Tesla NACS Partner Supercharger network. This allows owners of select battery-electric models to charge at more than 23,500 Tesla Supercharger stations across the U.S. The UL225-certified adapters from Audi begin shipping as a port-installed accessory for select 2025 e-tron models. To charge at Tesla Superchargers, Audi EV owners must open the Tesla app to initiate and pay for a charging session. That means no plug & charge capability at Tesla Superchargers, at least for now. However, you do have that capability at Electrify America stations.

Starting this September, the Q6 e-tron, A6 e-tron, and e-tron GT start arriving with the adapter included. However, the Q8 e-tron and Q4 e-tron remain unable to access Tesla Superchargers. Audi says that it will announce more details for existing EV owners. Moreover, integration of additional myAudi app charging functions and updates on its compatibility for the Q4 e-tron will also be announced at a later date.

Audi’s announcement makes it the latest automaker to gain access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. Additionally, Honda and Acura gained access to the most reliable public charging network in the United States.

The following automakers also have Tesla Supercharger access:

Ford
General Motors
Hyundai
Kia
Genesis
Nissan
Lucid
Rivian
Land Rover
Jaguar
Polestar
Volvo
Mercedes-Benz

Keep in mind that not all vehicles from other brands have Supercharger access. Vehicles like the outgoing Nissan Leaf can’t use them since it has the CHAdeMO port. Other brands that currently don’t have access to Tesla Supercharger include Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, BMW, and Mini. Audi is the first brand within the Volkswagen Group to gain Tesla Supercharger access. Meanwhile, expect Volkswagen, Porsche, Bentley, and the rest to follow suit. By the end of the year, every major automaker should have access to Tesla Superchargers.
