Want a 2026 Dodge Durango? Make sure you’re ok with a V8 engine because that’s all you’ll get in this SUV. For 2026, Dodge discontinued the V6, leaving only a choice of three V8 engines on the Durango. A 5.7-liter HEMI now comes standard, featuring 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. That’s 65 horsepower and 130 lb-ft more than the Pentastar V6! As a result, the Durango GT can hit 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, 1.2 seconds quicker than the old V6-powered model.
Want more power? The 2026 Durango R/T has a second V8 option for you: the legendary 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8. At 475 hp and 470 lb-ft, it’s 115 hp and 80 lb-ft more than the 5.7-liter unit. Additionally, the 392 HEMI V8 also includes a throatier exhaust note and what Dodge calls “track-inspired performance with daily drivability.”
At the top of the 2026 Durango lineup sits the SRT Hellcat. Featuring a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 710 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque, this muscle SUV can hit 60 mph in an impressive 3.5 seconds. What about the quarter mile? That’s done and dusted in 11.5 seconds. The Durango SRT Hellcat also has a top speed of 180 mph.

2026 Dodge Durango: Endless Customizability
For 2026, the Hellcat model now has a Jailbreak variant, which has over six million potential combinations for personalizing the vehicle. Drivers can choose between six wheel options, six factory colors, and six exterior badge color choices. That’s not all. The Jailbreak model also offers five seat color options and stripe colors, as well as four brake caliper and seat belt colors! How much does it cost to have this privilege? A cool $995, which is surprisingly cheap considering the extent of the customization options.
Pricing for the 2026 Durango starts at $44,490 for the GT trim, which also includes standard AWD. The Hellcat model remains the most expensive model at $81,990. Order books open on August 13, with first deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2025.
