The Subaru Uncharted has been announced as the third all-electric model, joining the recently updated Solterra and the upcoming Trailseeker. Although Subaru has yet to disclose all the details, the single teaser image already gives us plenty of clues about this new EV. The Uncharted appears similar to the Toyota C-HR, meaning this may be another collaborative effort between the two automakers.
Digging a little deeper, the vehicle in the teaser sports a two-tone color scheme. This includes a black roof and a brownish-red body color similar to the one that the C-HR launched with. The Uncharted also ditches the rear LED lightbar in favor of two clusters. Instead of the brand’s logo, the crossover’s liftgate has Subaru written across the trunk. Finally, the Uncharted appears to have a low roofline, further hinting that it’s a sibling to the Toyota C-HR.
Based on the teaser, the Subaru Uncharted slots below the Solterra in the lineup. That puts the car in the same segment as the Nissan Leaf, Hyundai Kona Electric, Kia Niro EV, and its twin, the Toyota C-HR. However, expect the Uncharted to feature a rugged vibe, especially compared to its sibling.
Subaru Uncharted: The Electrified Lineup Grows
Subaru’s electrified lineup continues to grow with the addition of the Uncharted. In terms of positioning, the Uncharted slots below the Solterra, making it the entry point to Subaru’s EVs. Alongside the Forester Hybrid, the upcoming Crosstrek Hybrid, Solterra, and Trailseeker, the Uncharted marks the fifth addition to this growing lineup. Expect a three-row SUV to eventually sit at the top, rounding out Subaru’s range of EVs and Hybrids.
Like the Solterra and Trailseeker, Subaru co-developed the Uncharted with Toyota as part of its EV partnership. Subaru also uses elements of the Toyota Hybrid System in the Forester Hybrid and Crosstrek Hybrid, paired with a mechanical AWD system.
Look for the 2026 Subaru Uncharted to debut on July 17.
